ECRI relocating global headquarters in the Philadelphia area
Healthcare nonprofit ECRI is relocating its global headquarters from Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania to a new location in Montgomery County, PA outside Philadelphia in early 2025.
ECRI sold its headquarters building, located on a 24-acre campus on Butler Pike in Plymouth Meeting, to a nonprofit organization that operates a school and behavioral health programs, Gemma Services.
ECRI’s new global headquarters will include office and meeting space, as well as the organization’s US-based medical device safety lab. ECRI is the only organization in the world to operate independent testing labs where engineers conduct hands-on, rigorous medical device evaluations. The new location will be announced in early 2025.
“This milestone move is exciting since it reflects how efficiently ECRI has grown in recent years,” said ECRI President and CEO Marcus Schabacker, MD, PhD. “We have celebrated tremendous growth in our network of partners, strategically acquired two of the industry’s leading healthcare and cultural transformation organizations (ISMP and The Just Culture Company), collaborated with White House leaders, and launched new solutions like Total Systems Safety, Human Factors Engineering, Healthcare Market Insights platform, SurgiSmartIQ and SALUTE. All this has been powered by our largely remote-virtual workforce, with ECRI locations thriving in the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Malaysia, UAE, and Canada.”
ECRI employees are located in 70% of states in the U.S., serving healthcare partners in more than 70 countries across North America, APAC, and EMEA regions.
“As we move into our new headquarters in 2025, we remain steadfast in our mission to improve the safety, quality, and efficiency of healthcare, and will continue to deliver on our promises to clients, partners and the healthcare industry,” said Schabacker.
