Engaging the OR and Procedural Areas to Mitigate Risks with Controlled Substance Medications

Workflow processes in ORs and procedural areas can contribute to an environment vulnerable to drug diversion. Broad access to a variety of medications, delays in documentation, rapid patient turn over and limited practitioner oversight makes detectability difficult.

Learn how to engage professionals in implementing best practices in the OR and procedural areas for controlled substance management. Faculty will illustrate how through leadership and collaboration, organizations have implemented safeguards and create a culture of awareness and accountability in all levels of the organization, providing effective drug diversion prevention and response.
