Webinar | Enhancing Safety in Perioperative Care: Collaborative Informational Session
Overview
Patients’ surgery needs drives a large part of healthcare utilization. But when things go wrong during surgery, patients can experience serious harm. Despite ongoing safety efforts, surgical patients are still at risk.
ECRI and the Institute for Safe Medication Practices PSO recently announced a new opportunity for healthcare providers to work collaboratively alongside both subject matter experts and peers to identify and implement strategies to reduce surgical related risks and improve perioperative safety. The collaborative will implement a learning system approach to disseminate patient safety best practices across the perioperative healthcare community. Using tools such as the PSO’s root cause analysis process review and ISMP’s Perioperative Medication Safety Self Assessment®, participants will receive feedback on how to better implement perioperative safety solutions.
