Nomination and Selection Process
Nominate a medication safety leader for a Cheers Award
Nominations for ISMP Cheers Awards are accepted from June through August. Medication safety leaders from all healthcare disciplines and all practice areas, including acute, long-term, home care, and community settings, are eligible to submit a nomination and to receive an award.
Nomination Criteria
To be considered for an award, nominations must meet the following criteria:
Award Categories
This award is given to an individual or organization who has demonstrated exemplary commitment to medication safety through an innovative and creative project, program, educational effort, and/or research.
This award is given in memory of a late ISMP Trustee, and honors members of the pharmaceutical industry that have made important and lasting contributions to patient safety.
This award is given to an organization that has shown evidence of utilizing ISMP materials within their practice: Newsletters, Action Agendas, Targeted Best Practices, Self Assessments, etc.
This award is given to an individual who has tirelessly volunteered their time and expertise to various ISMP projects over the years. This individual is eager to respond to our questions and is willing to take extra time to gather needed information.
This award has been re-dedicated in honor of ISMP Founder and President Emeritus Michael R. Cohen and is given to individuals who have made ongoing contributions to patient safety throughout their careers.
