Amy Potts, PharmD, FPPA

Amy Potts is currently the Manager for Quality, Safety, and Formulary Management for the Department of Pharmacy at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt (MCJCHV). Over the last 20 years, she has been recognized as a clinical expert in medication safety/quality and a leader in pediatric pharmacy practice.

Amy serves on the national and international level as an expert in pediatric medication safety/quality for the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), the Children's Hospital Associations (CHA), the Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP), and the Pediatric Pharmacy Association (PPA). Most recently, Amy has been awarded the Fellow of PPA and ASHP recognitions.

Amy is a Past-President (2013-2014) of the Pediatric Pharmacy Advocacy Group (PPAG) and served as a member of the Board of Directors helping advance pharmacy practice for infants and children. She was humbly a part of the collaboration to formally recognize pediatric pharmacy practice through board certification.

Amy holds a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from Duquesne University (1994) and in 2020 graduated with honors receiving her Master of Management in Health Care (MMHC) from Vanderbilt University. Amy completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (2000) and her PGY2 Pediatric Specialty Residency (2001) at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt (MCJCHV). She is a Board-Certified Pediatric Pharmacy Specialist (BCCPS) and in 2018, she completed the newly established Quality Academy Program at MCJCHV.
